Follow Friday #34

Thanks to Parajunkee and Alison Can Read for hosting Follow Friday every week!

This weeks question:

Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

A: I think it may be easier to say what I can't STAND in novels. LoL. But I'll try. I love strong kick ass heroines. Like Katsa from Graceling and Fire from, well, Fire. I also love when the male characters are understanding and respectful of the main female character that they're in love with, and don't pressure her to do or say or be anything that's completely ridiculous. If that makes sense. Like Prince Po. I kind of like when the hard ass male lead characters end up being softies. :-P Like Prince Brigan. Does that make any sense?

Can't wait to see your FFs!

  1. I agree with you about the importance of having the male character respect the female character (and appreciate her for being strong!).

  3. Good guys like Po don't get enough love. I'm a sucker for the bad guy (or the hard ass that is actually good deep down). I love that you highlight when a guy is respectful of the girl. Thats definitely a bonus too!

  5. A guy that is respectful is a must. I've read books where the guy is a jerk and just want to go into the book and kick his butt!

  12. Cool blog! Yes good heroines and understanding guys make me happy in a book. If the guys are jerks I get mad and don't want to read anymore xD

  13. Don't worry, it makes total sense! I really like guys who are bad boys but also are gentle and understanding in books! And strong heroines are always something that I like. I love your blog design, by the way! Purple's my second favorite color!
