Teaser Tuesday # 14

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I have two teasers. Both from books I've already read. It seems at the end of this month I've taken on a lot of reading projects and because I have ADD when it comes to books, I haven't finished any of them yet. I'm still reading Perchance to Dream and Legacy. And I'm a beta reader for an awesome author. I've just about wrapped that up so hopefully I'll finish the other two soon.

BUT ...

Without further ado.

From Her Irish Warrior by Michelle Willingham (one of my favorite Historical Romance novels):

"Genevieve hid in a chamber used for storing food and herbs until the sounds of battle faded in the distance. The thickness of smoke tainted the air, and she tried not to think of the number of men who were now dead. There were two she could save, and save them she would." p 25

And teaser number two comes from The Knight's Descent by A.M. Hudson (if you remember me mentioning this series before you'll remember it's an online publication as of right now, so there's no page number):

"David laid on his back, and pulled me onto his chest; every inch of our bodies that can possibly touch entangled like a mess of twisted vines. This feels so right. It’s so unfair that it can’t be for forever—but I would happily take the next eighty years."

Can't wait to see ya'lls teasers!

Steampunk Love

I'm out of town right now and figured I'd change this friday up. Wanted to show you some nifty things I found on the internet. I <3 Steampunk.

(All photos found using Google. I take no credit for any of them).

Here's a nifty lookin cell phone.

If I had a desktop computer like this, I'd never have gotten a laptop.

Of course, then there's this laptop. So I may have had to forego the desktop for this.

I'd totally spring for a Kindle if it looked like this.

Why can't I find cool stuff like this?

Just thought that would be fun to share. :-)

Cover Reveal - Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Now, I have yet to read Clockwork Angel... but I really want to. I love the cover. And despite my misgivings about the whole Mortal Instruments series, I'm willing to give the Infernal Devices a shot. Maybe it can redeem the first three books for me.

And.... without further ado....

Tada! Clockwork Prince . I just love these covers! What do you guys think. Was it worth the wait?

And, since May is drawing to a close, I post this one last time... if ya'll go look at my Random Acts of Kindness post I'd love you forever. And ever. Did I mention I'd love you? Cuz I would. ;-)

Happy reading.

Teaser Tuesday #13

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser this week comes from Legacy again.

"The raw torrent swirled around me, threatening to drag me under, and I sputtered and flailed in panic, certain I would drown. Just as the current was about to sweep me away from the boulders, I was half dragged onto the rock by a pair of strong arms." p 195

I haven't read that far in so this is a teasser for me too. It's such a good book! I just haven't had a whole lot of time to read lately.

What Are You Reading?

So I've gotten sucked in to two different books. And I'm going back and forth between the two so frequently it's taking me a while to finish either one. But they're both equally interesting. The first is Perchance To Dream by Lisa Mantchev and the second is Legacy by Cayla Kluver. I'm a little more than have way through with the first and still pretty much just starting the second, but they're both so good it's hard to choose which one to pick up!

I did not have an IMM post this week because I didn't get any new books. But that's ok, because I've got so many books now that I haven't read that I may need to put myself on a book buying ban until I'm able to read them all. On top of the hard copy books I've got a bunch of books on my Kindle on my phone. I've been reading Dreaming Anastasia by Joy Preble for what seems like ages now. And it's not that it's a bad book. It's just that I'm a hard copy kind of person. So I really only get in to my Kindle every once in a while. That and because my phone has decided it no longer likes to work most of the time... so it doesn't. And it's just a hassle to try and use it.

And I'm a beta read for a YA project by Shelley Watters. This is the second project of Shelley's that I've had the privilege to be a beta reader for. She's a terrific author and I can't wait to see the LAST book of hers in print. I'll definitely be adding it to my shelves. It was awesome.

So that's where I am right now. I want you to know that while I haven't been able to respond to a lot of notes in the last couple weeks, I do read every single one of them and I appreciate them all. It's been a hectic/busy/stressful time here and I'm hoping that will settle down some time soon so I can get back to you all. Hope you have a beautiful week. Happy Monday!

Follow Friday #10

Time again for another Follow Friday! Follow Friday is hosted every week by Parajunkee over at Parajunkee's View.

This weeks question:

Q. It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share. Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you? We all have them...

Hmmm...

1. I torture myself thinking about all the tattoos that I want but can't have because I have zero dollars to get them. ::sniff::
2. I like the smell of gasoline.
3. If I eat pickles I only eat hot and spicy pickles, but I can't eat them whole. I have to cut them into the little round slices.
4. When I'm tired I close my eyes and try to imagine myself outside asleep on a porch swing or in a hammock in about 68 degree whether with a nice cool breeze and birds chirping. With a pretty sunset, all purples, pinks, oranges, reds...
5. I tend to try and save people. Even if they can't be saved.

Can't wait to see ya'lls answers!

Ladies & Gentlemen - Katniss Everdeen

Click the picture up there to take you to Entertainment Weekly's Exclusive First Look at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen!

I was totally having a hard time picturing her as our leading lady before with the blonde hair. But while I was reading the books THIS is exactly how I imagined her. She looks great! I'm so excited to see this movie. I only wish we didn't have to wait so long.

What do you guys think? Katniss material?
