Follow Friday is hosted every week by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
I am still in Missouri, and so I have no idea what this weeks question is, so obviously I can't answer it.
Sorry.
Since I'm not here, I'll leave you with a trailer for one of my favorite movies.
And the music video for the theme song (I absolutely adore this song):

Daring You to Read - Fire Bringer by David Clement - Davies
Daring You to Read is hosted every week by Tynga over at Tynga's Reviews.
Here's how it works:
I read the book at the beginning of the year. I'd never heard of it before picking it up at the library I don't think (it's been a while, so I don't remember what made me grab it off the shelves). I loved it though. It reminded me a lot of Harry Potter, but with animals instead of people. I saw a lot of reviews on this that said it was a rip off of Watership Down by Richard Adams, but I have to admit, I've never read the book so I wouldn't know.
And honestly, who cares if it's like another book. Everyone gets their ideas from somewhere right? This book was an exciting read that made me angry at some characters and fearful for others. Any book that can make me feel ANYTHING (other than feeling like I want to throw it out the window, that is) is a good book in my opinion. And if you can take an idea that's been used before and do it again with a new twist, one that interests and entertains people, more power to you.
So go to your local library and pick this up.
I dare you. :-)
Here's how it works:
This week I'm daring you to read Fire Bringer by David Clement - Davies.- You choose a book you’ve read, loved and would dare your readers to read!- The book you choose must be an older release (at least 6 months ago), because let’s be honest, we’re all quite aware of the latest releases.- Write your own blog post, using the button and linking back to Tynga’s Reviews, inviting your readers to read your chosen book.- Come back on Tynga’s Reviews and put your link in the linking tool.- Browse other bloggers Dare and let them know if you’ve read their featured book, or plan on reading it.- Super easy and an awesome way to discover that special book who might have slipped off your radar!
Young buck Rannoch was born on the night his father was murdered and into a herd of deer where hunger for power has gradually whittled away at all that is true and good. He knows he must escape to survive. Chased by stags, with their fearsome antlers sharpened for the kill, he begins a treacherous journey into the unknown, and ahead of him lies a shocking and formidable search for truth and goodwill in the shadow of the Great Mountain.
One day he will have to return to his home and face his destiny among the deer to fulfill the prophecy that has persistently given them hope: that one day a fawn will be born with the mark of an oak leaf on his forehead and that fawn's courage will lead all the deer to freedom. Filled with passion and a darkness that gradually, through Rannoch's courage in the face of adversity, lifts to reveal an overwhelming feeling of light, Fire Bringer is a tremendous, spirited story that takes the reader deep into the hearts and minds of its characters as they fight for their right to live in peace.

Homeschool Reading Corner: Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney
I personally have not read this story. But I did listen to my oldest read it for an hour. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that a trip to the grocery store would result in finding a book my 8 year old would actually WANT to read. There I was, browsing in the book aisle, minding my own business. I turn around and see her sitting on the bottom shelf reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney.
I couldn't tell her no when she asked me if she could have it. She never asks for books she actually READS. You all just have no idea. And then, to add icing to the cake, just a day or two later we did PAWS for Reading at the library (a program where service dogs are brought in to the library and kids get to sign up for a slot to read to them). She brought this book and was able to read to Mosby (beautiful Australian Shepherd) for an hour. Usually, slots are only 15 minutes, but someone cancelled in every slot, and no one else wanted to read with the dog she was sitting with so... voila!
Listening to her read was great. And the parts that I did hear were funny. The illustrations were hilarious too. I think this particular book was easier for her to read because the writing is broken up so much by the pictures. It did a great job keeping her interested. And I was so excited.

I've definitely got to sign her up to do this again! It was wonderful! And I absolutely loved Mosby.

Teaser Tuesday #29
Thank you to MizB of Should Be Reading for giving us Teaser Tuesday every week!
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week's teaser comes from my latest read Humanity Scar by Monique Doucette.
Now, because I am currently out of town, I won't be able to read ya'lls teasers until I get back, but I can't wait!

After lacing up the boots (only a little bit too big! Thank God for my long feet!) and picking up my trusty crow bar I decided to make my venture to the garage. I wish I had looked outside first. I would have seen him coming...Seriously, who wouldn't want to read it after that teaser??

Covers Around the World - New Moon by Stephenie Meyer
You may be wondering why I'm doing New Moon by Stephenie Meyer this week.
I will tell you. I decided to do the series because I went and saw Breaking Dawn 1-2 weeks ago and it was AMAZING. I loved it. My favorite one out of the 4 (so far). Totally digging it. And great cut off there at the end. :-X
And because it was probably my favorite book in the whole series. I love Jacob Black. That is all.
Anyways.
Here are your covers. :-)

English language edition (and the cover on the copy I have)

Indonesian Edition (I know it's tiny, sorry)
English language edition (and, obviously, based on the movie.. ::sigh:: Jacob....)
German Edition
Korean Edition (I think that's supposed to be Bella... right?)
Russian Edition (Wow Bella... you look so much... older)
Czech Edition
Thai Edition (and I do think the Thai cover has snagged the 'favorite' spot again, even with the Spiderman-esque kissing scene here)
So that last one is gorgeous. In my opinion anyway. What do you guys think?

In My Mailbox #26
Thank you to Kristi, The Story Siren, for hosting IMM every week!
As I've said before, I am not in town this week. I'm in Missouri visiting with family!
But I wanted to share with you all some of the books I got this past week.
FIRST of all, I got a Kindle Fire and I have to tell you, it is amazing. I've always been kind of against e-readers or online reading (with a few exceptions) because I LOVE being able to put a hard copy of a book on my shelf when I'm done. But, I will admit, this has won me over.
For Christmas I got 2 books.
The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook by Dinah Bucholz

Totally excited to cook up some Harry Potter recipes. And equally excited to read the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series (I know, I'm behind... what can I say).
Now, because I've been on a Kindle book buying binge, I'm not going to list ALL of the books I got, because that would take forever, but I want to give you all an idea.
Humanity Scar by Monique Doucette
Entwined by Heather Dixon
War Horse by Michael Morpurgo
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Alice in Deadland by Mainak Dhar
Luthiel's Song: War of Mists by Robert Fanney
The Poison Diaries by Maryrose Wood
The Scarlet Pimpernel by Emmuska Orczy
The Strange Case of Finley Jayne by Kady Cross
That's just some of my great finds for the week!
What did you guys get this go around?
